First off, to the many of you who have already volunteered their time to
help at the FARC Father's Day Hamfest a week from tomorrow, THANK YOU
VERY MUCH!!

For those of you who would like to volunteer but haven't (yet) been
asked to lend a hand, here's a summary of the help we still can use, in
order of start times:

05:00 to 08:00 - Two Gate Keepers* at the Main Gate on Patrick St.

06:00 to 08:00 - One Ticket Seller at the Tailgate Admission gate on
Patrick St.

06:00 to 08:30 - One Building Monitor** in the Vendor Building

07:00 to 09:00 - One Ticket Seller at the Tailgate Admission gate on
Patrick St.

08:00 to 10:00 - One Gate Keeper* at the Main Gate on Patrick St.

09:00 to 11:00 - Two Ticket Sellers at the General Admissions gate on
Monroe St.

Please call 301-831-5060 ASAP if you can fill one of these time slots!

BRIBES:
All folks volunteering to help at the Hamfest of course get free
admission to the Hamfest, plus a Food Coupon redeemable at the
refreshments stand, plus a ticket stub to enter the prize drawings.
(Please don't forget to go to the FARC table in the main building to
claim your tickets - you've more than earned them.)

NOTES:
* The Gate Keepers at the Main Gate on Patrick St. are needed to admit
vendors and other non-Hamfest traffic into the Fairgrounds, and
re-direct non-vendor Hamfest traffic if needed. This year we plan to
close the Main Gates to discourage tailgater and general admission
entry, but we still need someone there to open the gates to admit
vendors, emergency vehicles, horse owners needing Fairgrounds access,
other volunteers, etc.

** The Building Monitor makes sure that all non-vendor folks are kept
out of Building #9 until 08:00, when the building officially opens and
all vendors are supposed to be present at their tables to keep an eye on
their own stuff. Between 08:00 and 08:30 help is needed to deal with
the inevitable late-arrival vendors and other early glitches.

And if you've read this far, thank you again. I hope to see you at the
Hamfest!

73, Bob K9CMR
