From Rolan W3FDK, here is a reminder on the Frederick Area Hams and
Friends luncheon on Friday, 1/4/08 at the Golden Corral buffet.

This is a great monthly get-together, open to all Hams, family, friends
and anyone else interested in Ham Radio, eating, socializing or all of
the above.

Phil W3ICF and friends got this going some time back, and it has
definitely grown and withstood the test of time.

If you haven't been to the Golden Corral before, you pay when you enter
and then you are turned loose on an *extensive* selection of food. (And
if you happen to be "60 or better" as we like to say, you get a bit of a
break on the admission fee. Many of us look much younger than our
years, so be sure to speak up and let them know if they don't recognize
your "better" status right away.) Once you're inside the buffet area,
look to your left for the more distinguished-looking group of folks
sporting callsign hats, badges, jackets and the like, with a bunch of
tables pushed together to accommodate the crowd (and a steady stream of
traffic to and from the buffet lines).

All,

Our first Friday of the month dinner will be this Friday , 1130, January
4, 2008 at the Golden Corral in the FSK mall complex in Frederick.

The weather is for the 50's so it looks like that is a plus.

Take care and hopefully we'll hear about all the Santa Radio goodies. I
didn't get any radio goodies but I did get a 20X80 Zumell Super Giant
astronomy binocular and of course that can be used for terrestial use so
we should be able to inspect our tower antennas if neeeded.

My knees are getting so its very hard to drag out the 10" dobsonian I
built and these astronomy binoculars should do dual duty and we do have
a heavy duty camera tripod that works great so what we don't need is
clouds HI.

Take care,
