Here are a couple of links to the QST article archives on the ARRL site,
relating to a couple of the home-brew antennas we talked about at last
night's meeting.
You'll see that some of the articles are labeled "Members Only". If
you're an ARRL member and haven't registered on the ARRL site, you
should look into it. Access to such articles is one benefit among
many. If you're not an ARRL member, consider joining. Let me know if
you want to join - the Club gets an extra "finder's fee" bonus for new
ARRL members vs. those renewing.
Here's info on J-Pole designs: http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/JPole-V.html
. Scroll down the page and you'll see other Web links to related pages.
Here's a page with a link to the 2m phased array construction article in
QST, plus another vertical design:
http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/Vertical-V.html . The phased array article
is also available here, outside the ARRL site:

These are just the tip of the iceberg on do-it-yourself antenna
projects. I'd guess that over the years, more has been written about
DIY antennas than any other single aspect of Ham Radio. It's still one
of the ways the average Ham can improve station performance while having
some fun and learning something, WITHOUT having to spend a bunch of money.
