As Eric N8AAY indicated earlier, Frederick County ARES will be participating in the nation-wide Simulated Emergency Test on Sat. from 0930 until approx. 1400. All interested amateurs are encouraged to check in on the 146.060 repeater beginning at 0930, but participation for the entire time period is not required. A severe weather scenario will be simulated and the use of battery/emergency power is encouraged. Net control will be operating from the Red Cross HQ in Walkersville, and satellite stations will be at the FARC shack at the CAP and at the EOC. Interested hams are invited to participate form their home QTH or mobile station, and give simulated local condition reports as requested on voice and/or digital APRS (144.390).

We are also in need of someone who has a laptop APRS setup to volunteer for duty at the Red Cross in Walkersville.

If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks.
