Don't forget to clear your calendar for the Frederick Amateur Radio Club
meeting next Monday, March 19th.

As usual, we'll be starting at 7 PM sharp, and as usual, we'll try to
keep the administrivia to the minimum necessary.

Our program this month is on HF (High Frequency) Amateur Radio
communications.

With last month's FCC rule change dropping any requirement to pass a
Morse Code test in order to access the HF bands, some of you may be
interested in learning more about what's needed to get up and
communicating in that important part of our Ham Radio spectrum. Hint:
It's easier than you may think. We'll try to break through the mystique
of the 200-foot towers, humongous beam antennas, megabuck rigs,
kilowatt-plus amplifiers and all the rest that have long been associated
with "serious" HF operations, and break things down to the realistic
practicalities.

If you've been thinking about learning more about HF comms, or if you've
been there, done that, and want to share your experience, don't miss
this meeting. It will be a "slide show" format, with plenty of
opportunity for interaction and Q&A. If you know anyone who may not get
this email but is interested in HF or in Ham Radio in general, please
pass the word. All are welcome.

73, Bob K9CMR
