To all who were able to help out at today's FARC Father's Day Hamfest, I
want to extent a very big and very sincere THANK YOU! for all your efforts!
Here's another one: THANK YOU!
Actually, it probably can't be said enough to acknowledge all the hard
work by you dedicated FARC members and friends (and a good number of
your amazing spouses and kids, too) that went into today's event.
Over the few years I've been a FARC member, I've tried to lend a hand in
one way or another with our Hamfest, but no matter what I've been able
to personally contribute, I am always just blown away by the almost
superhuman effort that seems to coalesce on Hamfest day to pull the
thing off, make it happen, overcome problems, and make it a success.
This year is no different. I'd say that the 2007 FARC Father's Day
Hamfest was one of the great ones, and I hope all of you who helped and
lent your support perceive the same fruition of your efforts. For 2007
the feedback we've gotten from folks who enjoy our Hamfest as our
"customers", whether vendors, tailgaters, or attendees, has been
uniformly good, some even heading into "glowing" territory.
Having said all that and tired as we may all be from (and/or with)
Hamfest stuff, we are nevertheless scheduled to have a Frederick Amateur
Radio Club meeting tomorrow, Monday, June 18th, at 7:00 PM. The
calendar doesn't lie.
And meet we will! But this month it will be at Pizza Hut on Rosemont
Avenue, instead of the Independent Hose Company station on Baughman's
Lane. The program and agenda for this meeting will be as published by
Pizza Hut in their menu. I'm hopeful that it will enlighten, educate
(end even sustain) us all.
I'm encouraging anyone who hates to miss a FARC Meeting Monday to come
on over to the Pizza Hut on Rosemont Ave. at 7:00 PM on the 18th to join
other like-minded FARC members for some pizza, salad, soft drinks and/or
whatever else the place has to offer.
Please note that there will be *no* official FARC business conducted!
No agenda! No minutes! Open discussion only! The only motions
entertained will be those that are necessary to get food from plate to
mouth, and those motions will be automatically seconded as necessary!
Hope to see you there, and please pass the word to others who may not
get this note directly.
73, Bob K9CMR
(along with another THANK YOU! to everyone on the FARC Hamfest Team)
