[FARC] A little off subject

You can come out to Middletown Park which has a nice lake and picnic tables.
Route 40A West from the "Golden Mile" in Frederick to Coblentz Road in
Middletown. I recommend this for kids rather than local rivers or streams.

Catoctin Mountain Park; Route 15 to Route 77 Thurmont. Most times of the
year catch-and-return rules are in effect though, which means no barbed
hooks. Also in Catoctin Mountain Park, there is Hunting Creek Lake, which
if still open has fishing, camping, and swimming.

Middle Creek; Baltimore National Pike (Route 40) West from Frederick to
Myersville, MD 17 North to Ellerton (about 3 miles). Ellerton is a little
tiny wide spot in the road (that I just love), barely recognizable as a town
but you can park along the road there by the stream. You'll see other
fishermen most likely. Spruce Run, which is further up MD 17 toward
Wolfsville from Ellerton. Same stream as Ellerton but fishing area is from
rocks just below the highway bridge in a cool evergreen forest.

Due to drought area streams have very low water and many are polluted so
watch for it.
