Recent rule changes allow all technician class amateur licensees to operate
CW & Single Side Band voice from 28.300 MHz to 28.500 MHz and CW, RTTY, &
DATA from 28.800 MHz to 28.300 MHz in the 10 meter band.

Every 2nd and 4th Monday evening at 8:15PM local time, there is an informal
ARES net on 28.480 MHz USB in the 10 meter band; all are welcome and
encouraged to check in.

The net basically consists of a quick round of comments which often include
signal reports. The regular net participants on the Frederick County 10M
ARES net are the some of the same folks you'll hear on the 147.06 and other
local repeaters, which should be a more comfortable situation for getting
familiar with that new, new to you, or borrowed for a while, HF rig.

Also of note, keep an eye out for ARRL Headquarters, W1AW operating on
28.480 MHz this weekend, they will be running a special event. I'll also be
on the air (on or around 28.480 MHz or 28.400 MHz) on Saturday sometime,
along with many other hams around the country, hoping to welcome technicians
and new generals to HF.
