Good morning all. We had a newer member of the community at the meeting
this past Wednesday who is looking for some Elmer assistance. Mike James,
KB3KTY, lives in the Knoxville area. He's recently set up a new station
and antenna system and would like some help checking things out to make
sure that everything is okay before he goes into operation.

If you are willing to provide a little time and some assistance, please
contact Mike directly to coordinate. His cell phone is 301-606-2180 and
his email is fourchimney(at)yahoo.com. Hopefully someone close to him
can assist in checking things and we can get him on the air quickly.

Also, we are going to have a "Hamfest Appreciation Picnic" at the CAP
facilities next month on the evening of our normally scheduled meeting,
September 15th. There will be no formal meeting that evening and we
will gather for the picnic betweek 6:00 and 6:30. FARC will be providing
the hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and basic essentials and we're
encouraging attendees to bring a "side dish" of some type. Also bring
your FAMILIES! This is open to all members, non-members who help us
with the hamfest, and immediate families. Please come join us for a
good time with friends and families. If you want to help set things up
or suggestions on something to bring, contact Jeff Fishman, KB3FIO,
on the air, at email ljfish(at)mindspring.com or by telephone at
240-409-7678 (cell).

The FARC will be having our holiday dinner in December instead of
our normal meeting. The members have voted to have it in the private
room at the Golden Corral like we did last year. If we can schedule it
for our normal meeting night, the dinner will be on the 15th.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions on any matter, please feel
free to contact me via email or via telephone (301-606-1848, cell). If
you ever send me an email and it gets bounced back, the bounceback
message will contain instructions for forwarding that message to me at
a different address so that I can solve the problem, or you can call
me at the above number so that I can deal with it. Please do not
delete the bounceback message since it will contain information that
I will need to correct things. You can also post questions and remarks
directly to this email list by sending them to farc(at)mailman.qth.net.

Also note, in all email references above, substitute an "@" symbol in
all email addresses instead of the "(at)". Writing email addresses
that way in email messages makes it more difficult for spam harvesters
to pick up the addresses and send spam to them.
