[FARC] July's FARC get-together

Well it was a working meeting.  About 8 or 10 FARC Amateur Radio
enthusiasts got together tonight at the K3ERM Civil Air Patrol club
station and erected the new Carolina Windom HF dipole antenna.  No
formal meeting was conducted as Treasurer Ken, N3ZXM was completely
outnumbered by non-officers.  Ken was able to take care of a few pieces
of paper work.  Worthy mention to Carolyn, N3VOK who, after 7 years of
fulfilling the club Secretary's position, showed up at a meeting without
her tape recorder and note tablet.  During club elections back in
January she said she would only take the Secretary's position for 6
months.  July is the 7th month and we are now without a Secretary.
Anyone interested?  

 

A note of gratitude to Carolyn, who has served our club long and
selflessly.  She worked throughout the years, not just at meetings and
Hamfest time.  She has brought many a successful Father's Day Hamfest
together and deserves much credit.  Thank you Carolyn.  

 

The new Carolina Windom antenna worked terrifically!  Jeff, KB3FIO
coordinated the install and when we tuned-up for the first time the SWR
was 1.1:1.  Additionally, the florescent room lights added no additional
noise!  One contact was made on 40-meters to Tennessee.
