[FADCA] WL2K FORUM HamCation 2014

I hope everyone has finally been able to read the referenced Subject
information sent February 26, 2014.

 

The email was addressed to list server FADCA at mailman.net and fadca at qth.net.
I initially dug up as many email addresses for FADCA members I could find or
estimate, and put those in CC:  I also included a few others who I thought
might have some interest.  The large number of recipients and large
attachment likely is why the list server would not pass the attachment right
through.  Those who were on the cc: list should have received the
attachment.  Then as some hams with accounts on the FADCA list server but
for who I did not have an email address asked about the attachment, I
emailed the attachment directly to them and added their email address(s) to
this note.

 

>From the last part of the original announcement:

 

"Everyone please indicate your preference for option A or B by email to
mailto:n0ia at arrl.net  by March 8, 2014.  If your preference is option A and
a PLAN is being prepared but not yet ready - indicate a date for submission.
If your preference is option B and you have suggestion(s) for disposition of
FADCA assets please indicate same (keep in mind Article XIII of the By-Laws
(shown below)"

 

Those responses, comments that were made on the FADCA reflector were
available to all reflector members.  There were several good comments there
and some ongoing conversation.  

 

I have received very few responses directly, including three "VOTES" (for
option A or option B.)  At 0900 today there were only two votes on the
SURVEY <https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DKZ3YRQ>   that Phil KE4PWE set  up.

Of the three votes I received direct:

 

          Two are for option B . . . ". . in the absence of a PLAN
acceptable to the BOD."

          One was for option B with a  specific suggestion for disposition
of FADCA funds.

 

Of the two votes on the survey:

 

          One of the survey votes was YES with a plan submitted to N0IA

          One of the survey votes was YES disband

 

[Phil:  Is there a way to determine who casted those votes if not indicated
in the  comment block?]

 

However, neither of these Survey votes included anything in the comment
section, nor were identified by call letters.  

So there is yet a PLAN to be offered for consideration.

 

I have no way of knowing if you read the material unless you responded in
some fashion.

 

Please take time to cast your "vote"  - preferably  directly to me
n0ia at arrl.net, or through the SURVEY.  It is important that you let me know
your name and call letters in either case!  

 

We had hoped to have this 'straw' vote by today.  In the absence of an
intent and date to submit a PLAN for review, we can start taking appropriate
action.  A reminder- anyone with an intent to submit a plan later must let
me know by today with an estimate of the date the plan will be presented.  

 

There is nothing sacrosanct about this vote - it only lets us determine the
overall level  of interest.  If there are no PLANs acceptable to the BOD
submitted by March 30, 2014 (Option A) then it is a no-brainer, the BOD will
take option B.

 

Your early attention to this matter will be appreciated.
