SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - WL2K demos using AIRMAIL - VHF Packet and HF PACTOR.

 

LOOK FOR KN6KB MOTOR HOME/WL2K BANNER - WL2K demos using RMS EXPRESS and
PACLINK - VHF Packet, HF WINMOR and PACTOR.

Digital Communications and Applications

What do we mean by digital coms?:  

         Messages, Emails with attachments, Peer to Peer messaging.

 

Mechanisms available and required equipment:  

HF- Long-Range . . . minimal infrastructure required. . . sometimes fickle
propagation.   Pactor (1,2,3,) WINMOR, Robust Packet, V4.

 VHF/UHF -  Short range . . . Packet infrastructure or local servers
required . . .  Reliable propagation.  Packet (1200, 9600) Existing Packet
infrastructures useful.

 UHF/Microwave   D-Star   High Speed Data ID-1 1.2GHz, 128K Messaging
possible with assist from programs like D-Rats.    900 MHz Radios, WiFi.

Systems Available:   WL2K including RMS Servers and networked BPQ32 servers.
Peer to Peer with limitations.

 

Overview of WL2K history, implementation, EMComm user examples and traffic
loads.

 

Overview of  Demonstrations available (VHF Packet including Laptop with D72A
HT,  HF WINMOR or Pactor.)
