GNV site is still up, just building another PC for the new upgrade,
having issues with the ISO files but will work it out.  "Say's I have
junk in my *what*" Love it, Murphy law never fails to show its head.

 

Just doing a weekly message.

 

After reading last weeks, we have come to the conclusion that it will be
to short and in-effective to try a short wifi hop in most areas, but we
will continue to work on some single target WRT type connections and see
what we get.  I have one WRT and will get another and will work on a
test here on my site just for kicks and grins, I have another site going
up soon so I'll have a place to make a hop across the county for a test.
Hope to see something talked about on those 80 dollar devices, see how
they work out, I accually could use a few of those for another project
I'm working on if they are any good.

 

I am unable to go to the Palm Beach fest due to State work but if anyone
in the future wants to go to their local hamfests and have a table up
for demo of the different digital modes to spark and interest please
message me, I was able to get two tables for the Gainesville Hamfest for
free with a large LCD screen from Public Safety to display stuff and
it's really not to hard to get people to donate tables.  I'm going to
"try" to figure out the Picture in Picture of the LCD so I can show live
aprs.fi for the state, and a slideshow of packet, aprs, dx c, ect. I
remember years and years ago sitting at the South Florida Fair at the
EOC table showing the packet network on my little IBM monochrome laptop,
somewhere there's a photo of it.

 

I have more but don't have more time, doing CERT trainings for 6 weeks
also.
