I have numerous computers with hard drives mounted in just about any configuration that you can imagine. I do not think that the heat issue can be stressed enough. Heat kills.

Subject: [FADCA] computer question

The computer that we were using for the OPK switch gave up recently. It was
diagnosed as hard drive failure..I do not know how old the hard drive was as
the computer was give to me.

So my question is:

Do you think the hard drive failed because the computer was laying on its
side, and not sitting up right.?

OR

It was a old hard drive and was ready to die any how.?

I don't know if hard drives are subject to being right side up all the time
or not..and do not want to repeat the same error if that is the cause of it
failing in the first place..

Your thoughts and comments are welcome..

Thanks
