Well I stand corrected then, but it seems there are 145.030 devices in
the central and north areas because I have heard them and connected to
them, besides a ducting to the south devices that is where I assumed
that someone had other ideas on the coordinations. I have put the
Telpac back to the 145.570 now that the Tallahassee group has removed
the voice repeater that they put on it, and hopefully they won't do it
again. The only reason I put it there in the first place was due to
them using voice, but once I found out who it was they change to a
different freq.

Just for clarification.
I recently read comments in messages reflected here that looked like
folks
were being encouraged to use frequencies of adjacent area devices. I
encourage those who plan to put devices that are to have a 24 hour use
and
provide communication in their Local Area Network to NOT use the
frequencies
of adjacent LANS.

There is no "universal packet frequency" in Florida. Each area has a
LAN
frequency or is suggested a frequency. The LANS are to be linked
together
on another band, 220, 440, etc.

For history, the LAN frequency in Gainesville is now 145.570 due to the
action of a local ham in Gainesville who commandeered 145.07 and the
coordinated station graciously relinquished the coordinated frequency to

avoid confrontation.

If equipment in adjacent areas starts to be put on the same frequency
that
frequency will become less usable by anyone.

I encourage those who want to put devices on the air that will provide
24
hour operation to work with the FADCA Coordinator to identify a
frequency
for their VHF operation that will not interfere with other coordinated
devices within their radio horizon and work with their neighbors to
identify
a link frequency they can mutually use to link their LAN with adjacent
LANs
to be consistent with the LAYERED Packet Network.

I will be bringing back up the 145.570 here in Gainesville just an FYI ,
just waiting for EEproms to be re-done for FPAC. Right now I have stuff
my Telpac over on 145.030 since it is the universal packet freq in FLA
it seems.

Is he talking about the Lake Placid switch on 144.97? That would be the
nearest, it is/was a DOS box, perhaps it can be moved to Linux and the
TelPac app put on it?
