Hi,

As reported earlier, the SuitSat-1 is no longer functioning. It stopped
working shortly after its release.

This is what I had predicted at the LMARS meeting. These "untested"
experiments are definitely fun to try. However they have not been "proof-tested"
prior to their impromptu implementation. I stated that the batteries are
exposed to extreme cold on the "shadeside" and extreme heat on the "sunside" can
prove to be unreliable.

I suspect that the batteries may have ruptured but I do not have any
substantiation for my conclusion. Nor do I think any will be forthcoming.

But do not give up hope. There is still another space suit aboard ISS that
can be jettisoned.
I do not think there is another transmitter available to attach to it for
the ham bands.

However there may be another handheld available that is expendable.

73,
Carl, AA4MI
