Perhaps I've lost my link from this e-mail reflector - the only messages
I've seen in weeks were from K4GBB.
Is Anybody there?
Okay.. here is an update from E. Central Florida.
All three network switches (Orlando, DeLand, DAB) are up and running and
have 9.6kb backbones between them 9.6kb TNCs/radios are ready at Orlando to
go to Melbourne and at DAB to go to STA. The Orlando FPAC is still at my
QTH (sigh) and cannot make Melbourne. The 9.6kb link from DAB through St.
Augustine to Orange Park could be ready at almost any time. The Melbourne
FPAC is up and operational except for the 9.6kb UHF user port. Two new 60A
switching power supplies are scheduled for early next month - that should
solve the problem.
Volusia County: The City of DeBary EOC will have a Telpac node and e-mail
over ham radio capability on the DeLand LAN (144.91) by this time next week.
The local Moose Lodge donated $1500 for gear and made the check out to me
personally so we would not have to go through City purchasing red tape. The
City told me that I should not let the need for some additional money keep
me from getting the system up and running. I have it all working on my
bench now. The City of DeLand EOC has accepted a proposal for a complete
set up including an EMCOMMs PMBO. We'll be doing initial antenna work there
next week and could have that system running before the end of October.
Seminole County: The City of Altamonte Springs EOC has tentatively accepted
our proposal and we'll have a full EMCOMMs PMBO there as well, perhaps
before the end of October. The Seminole County EOC was the first EMCOMMs
PMBO in Florida - we installed that two years ago.
Who can top that?
Get busy!
Hope all is well and I've not lost my link to the fadca at mailman group.
