Perhaps the lable should be changed in order to reflect the true nature of
the beast. To get a better handle on this perhaps
Your name = callsign, your name and your callsign move around
Your Address = X.121 address, your address (as in home) stays fixed so
there is a common location where to find you or leave you things...

When you take the lid off of names and addresses, you will find that most
things have a fixed address, but we do not as a rule handle numerical
addresses as well as names and lables, but numerical addresses tend to
be much more precise. And machines can handle numerical addresses
with much greater ease. So we end up with name servers and other mapping
devices that allow us to use names and labes but those are mapped to
addresses.

So in the end Names are a good Thing, but Addresses are also a good
Thing. We need them both in order to make life a bit easier.
