Chuck KP4DJT, Charlie K4GBB, and Charlie N3PPC - (the two of a kind, Chuck
high) - I want to introduce you to Jack KB9LEB from Port Orange, FL.
Jack is on the 145.05 DAB LAN and has all the WL2K programs working - his
extensive packet experience is 10 years old - but he got the WL2K stuff all
working in just a few hours!
Jack works for the City of Edgewater (20 miles east of me) and is working on
getting the city on the Layered Packet Network with a couple of Telpac nodes
and Paclink AGW at the EOC.
Here is the awful part: Jack has six years of active LINUX experience -
Geeeezzzeee.. he's one of you!
I would appreciate your sharing your efforts/results with Jack- he has
volunteered to work with N3PPC to help get LINUX working here on the three
switches in E. Central Florida - once you have that magic CD install
working!
I still have the Orlando DOS FPAC here at my shack- so it is a good
candidate for N3PPC and KB9LEB to use as a test bed since I can be here to
watch it and scream 'HELP' when it starts smoking.
My hope is we can have LINUX FPAC working routinely on the Orlando switch
before we move it to Orange County. Then all I have to do is load the LINUX
CD at the DeLand site. The DAB ROSE site will need a laptop - which I have
and we have tested on Knopix.
Haven't heard much about LINUX lately -
