WELCOME-
Hi, Burt-
Your experience with packet and digital is most welcomed here in our attempt
to resurrect, refurbish, expand, and improve the Florida Layered Packet
Network. Your interest in LINUX will be of great help to those of us still
in the Dark Ages of DOS FPAC as many of us have 'designs' on being able to
move most, if not all, of the switches to LINUX FPAC. There are at least
three in our group spending a lot of effort to better understand LINUX FPAC.
The goal is to be able to hand the rest of us a CD ROM with the following
instructions:
"Follow the instructions starting with #1 on the opening screen."
We FPAC DOSers are hoping that all we'll have to do is enter our
site-specific configuration data and make a note of the phone numbers of the
LINUX gurus when something goes wrong!
Here in E. Central Florida N3PPC and I manage three switches (two FPAC one
ROSE)... hope I only have to remember one guru phone number. Actually
Charlie N3PPC is one of those working on the LINUC FPAC study... he reports
having a 'LINUX Headache" every once in a while.
I did a lot of Heath Kits in the 50s and 60s. I still have a Heath Pocket
Packet TNC!
Stand up comedy - No question we can use some comic relief -
I'm a George Carlin fan.
