Grief, what frequency is that going to be? All of them are used somewhere.
Why to people have to complicate things with such issues? I would like to
have freq that no one else is on but it ain't so.

Tell him to come up to the real world. We have to share, I could say that I
get tired of seeing the switch calls on the KC5QCN switch port but I do not
it tells me that the thing is alive, indeed that was one of the first
indications
that our problem at the Tampa switch site was a TX problem, we could see
them but they could not see us, makes trouble shooting a bit easier!!!

I suppose since Burt is offering to give a hand perhaps there is a way to
make all happy, Burt you may not like the fix, but you will have to check
out some freqs and then go down there and change the freq every so often
then you can check the heard list and see how much neighbor contamination
there is. The one that is lowest is the one you would use, of course providing
that it is a packet freq. We do not want to go off and get on non-packet
channels since we have no way to determine (in a realistic way) if the
channel is used by non packet or even packet but at a different speed.
You will be monitoring at 1k2, what if you put the radio on a 9k6 channel
you will never see it in the heard list. So there is all sort of issues. This
is what the coordination is all about.

The site has a coordinated channel and it should be used or a new coordination
established, but all of the above needs to be taken into account.
