HI -

Today N3PPC and I re-installed the 9.6kb backbone port at DeLand (to
Orlando). The Orlando LAN through DeLand LAN to Daytona Beach LAN 9.6kb
backbones are all working okay. The DeLand end of the Orlando backbone is
still on a dual band vertical (3dB) 35 ft below the elevation where a 10db
beam will be mounted. Signal strength at DeLand is at least 2uv over the 12
mile path to my QTH where the Orlando LAN is temporarily located. The
Orlando LAN is on a tri band vertical. Both ends have 35w output.

When the Orlando switch is moved (35 mile path) both ends will have 10dB
gain beams and 150 ft agl antenna heights.

Signal strength of the DAB signal at Deland was greater than 3uv - a great
signal level (35w and 10dB beams on both ends of the 23 mile path.) There
is a pulse signal every 10 seconds on or about 439.9000Mhz 150Khz below the
backbone frequency of 440.0500. I'm wondering if that correlates to any ATV
standard - as there is a major 70cm ATV system in Daytona Beach. It is not
known if the pulse signal is interfering with the backbone.
