How many of these 40.000 are HAMS and haw many just hold a licence???

ANYONE can be a leader they just have to find something they want to
lead...Look at Chuck and Charlie. I would say that they are LEADERS
in getting Linux fpac going and right now I'm one of the followers!!!
No one asked them to do it they just WANTED to and they are making it
happen. Guess what, NO politics involved except for what they come up with.

So you start your own niche group and make whatever you want happen
and put them to work. Then when it takes off you can be the leader.

And who is going to do it Paul?
There are only a handful of people that are really doing anything.
Look at packet. We are still using the original programs that haven't
been updated in 10+ years. Know any code writers? I have a job for
them. No politics just here is the source code from FBB, AA4RE and
FPAC. How about updating it to do what we need. THEY can make the
politics on it since they are doing the work.
I've been trying to get this done for YEARS....Guess what NO takers.

Well this is yes and no....In this day and age it is more of a "build
it and they will come" attitude.
I also remember at one of the meetings we had in Tampa that someone
said they had a tall site that we could put a fpac switch on and they
would work on it and it never happened. I don't remember who it
was... This was just a few years ago. In this case we DO have the
leadership in FADCA to do it but "The People" that said they would
work on getting the switch up are still as you put it "sitting on the
sidelines" and the leadership is still waiting for them to say lets do it..

This is why we have been plugging away with building our network here
in Florida. We have never stopped. There are only a very small few
out of that 40,000 that you talk about that are doing anything with
it. We don't need to use the excuses that we have no leadership or
this and that.. We are just doing it. And you know what, a lot of
people are looking at what FADCA was and is doing around the country.

PLEASE let me know who is sitting on the sidelines just waiting to go
to work with amateur radio and I'll put them to work....
I have NO problem with things that need to be done. We have holes all
over the state that need to be plugged. We need a site around Sebring
and Lake Placid that we need sites installed to get the east/west
link back on line..
Send me the names of all these people that are sitting with a head
full of knowledge just waiting to be taxed!!!!!

I think that you are just making excuses for why things aren't getting done.

I'll get off the soapbox now!

Think about it .....
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?
