[FADCA] Anyone want to take exception to this?

Doug I would love to see that happen. I only hope that it will occur and
that the desired consequence is your DEC will take the lead in causing
things to happen.

I had Bud come to a presentation of the whole system (Bud how long ago was
that?) and while I get lip service and my EC says we are going to be a
Winlink using county and my DEC has never said anything to me to discourage
it, I have yet to see either of them say to the general ARES membership, "I
want this to be implemented in my area and on X date we are going to
implement the system. I expect X number of Paclink and Airmail
portable/mobile stations to be operational by X date. This is important and
I am taking a personal role to make sure it happens."

Boy, wouldn't that be wonderful.

When you look at what has been done and what is achieved, it has been
because a LEADER has made it a priority, a necessity, a goal and has pulled
together the resources and expertise to make it happen.

I can offer and offer and show and ask and do it all over again, but until
the element of commitment and ACTION takes place it is not going to happen.

Bud has made many presentations. But unless the participants are going to do
something with the presentation it is pretty much wasted time. (Sometimes
the organizers don't what things to happen - I remember a trip to
Tallahassee and a lot of financial investment and time spent that resulted
in nothing but continued interference by a particular person who is supposed
to be a leader but has turned out to be an interferer.)

Again, I hope that what you say is going to happen will happen and the
result will be an awaking of ACTION in your District that will spread to
other Districts to the East, West and South of Tallahassee.

I encourage you and am willing to travel to Tallahassee if there is anything
that I can do to help make it happen. I'll go anywhere I can to help make
similar opportunities happen if it will result in action. I can't do it if
it is a "program" to fill time.

Russ
