Better yet - Attend the 2005 FADCA Technical Conference on April 30 in
Sanford, FL.
So you want to get (back) on packet- Here is your chance for some real-time
help.
Starting at 0800 HRs sharp the following basics will be presented in a
1.5-2.0 hour HANDS ON work shop. There will be plenty of help - take
advantage of this opportunity. If you don't have a Win95/98/2000/XP laptop,
come and observe so you will have full comprehension of how to do this on
your desktop computer at home or your EOC.
1. Loading the following programs on your Win2000 or WinXP computer:
MS Dot Net Framework 1.1 (do it yourself before you leave home if
possible)
AGW PE free
AGW monitor
AGW terminal
AGW digi
Paclink Post Office
Paclink AGW
On this computer or a Win95/98
Winpack Terminal Program
Airmail 3.0.22
Telpac Node
2. Making the TNC LEDs blink using Paclink AGW and Airmail.
If you also bring your (working) TNC and an RS232 cable for the TNC to your
computer, you will go home with all this working. Do not bring your vhf
radio unless you have a TNC-to-radio cable already wired for that. If you do
not have a TNC there will be one for you to use during the workshop as a
proof of principle.
The more detailed part of the full-day 2005 FADCA Technical Conference will
start no later than 1000 Hrs.
A detailed agenda will be forthcoming no later than Friday April 8.
