[FADCA] AX25 Linux work

Folks,
I now have a working AX25 stack on my linux box. I can now make it work
with both a regular KISS eprom and a BPQKISS eprom. I am still sorting
out one issue where the pseudoport that is used for MKISS does not go
away when AX25 is shut down. I have to reboot it right now in order to
clear it. With a regular KISS operation the pseudo port is not needed, so
when I shut AX25 down to restart it all works just fine.
My next step is to start adding the network piece to it, and test that out.
I will get the ROSE/FPAC stuff in place first, then I will add the rest.
Here is what I have so far.
Linux with the usual TCP/IP parts.
AX25 with the connectivity and IP parts.
To add
FPAC
NetRom (perhaps we can offer a port for the SEDAN people and provide them
with some additional BW, the fact that Sedan nodes
distant from one
another but appearing as neighbors may be intreguing to some of
there users)
AXIP (allows Ip to be encapped in AX25 frames or AX25 to be encapped
in IP frames)
APRS
TelPac (Now that there is a linux solution we can reduce box count a bit here)
INFO Servers
To Do
Learn how to pack this down into a small box preferably something similar to the
LINUX FPAC Floppy but running off of CF disk so that it will be fast and have no
moving parts.
Most switch sites will only need the IP/AX25/FPAC/NetRom/APRS piece all of
which shares bits and pieces of code so they will pretty much be in
there already.
Those which have good siting and want to run off of a HD could also carry INFO
servers for thier areas.
If any of you are wanting to take a poke at it I can send you the
files that I have
set up to start it up.
Once you start configuring the files it becomes pretty clear what is
going on. Also
take a read of the AX.25 How To, you want to get the one dated Sept 2001.

"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
