There are some very usefull tools with FPAC Linux, here is what I have
found.
How many times have you needed to calibrate that TNC but did not want
to change the eprom or jump to TNC code and bring up a terminal program?
Well there is a routing called "calibrate" that when invoked will cause the
port that is indicated to send a continous data stream until you hit a CR.
Of course this program is not invoked through FPAC (You COULD do it
but it would be quite dangrous because unless you had another way to
get to the switch you would not be able to shut it off, of course if you are
getting in over another link or wire line it would be a different issue)
There is a program called remote that allows you to read or write to
the parallel port on the machine, so you could turn things off and on
or read the status of a device.
Another one is monitor which allows you to monitor the channel much
like the program listen which ax25-config starts up in the ax25 config
file, it does one thing that I do not see under listen, it adds line numbers
so I guess you could capture data to a file and then refernce the line
numbers.
There is another program called tcp_dump that allows you to monitor
tcp/ip operations.
There are others in there, I will give you more info as I test them out.
