Folks,
I am sure someone else has done it (I know it has been done with other
projects but not seen anything with FPAC) I have DOS FPAC up and running
on a CF card. I got a CF IDE adaptor from a place called Siliconkit:
www.siliconkit.com
I sys'd a 16m CF card, moved all of the FPAC DOS stuff to it plugged
it in where the old HD was and started it up, WOW FPAC loads so fast
it is scary!!
No HD noise, no nothing. Evans brought a Dell by to put FPAC on it,
I plugged in the CF card in place of the HD and from switch turn on
to FPAC running is 10 seconds. I can not get over not hearing some
noise coming out of the machine, but with the HD unplugged and powered
down there is no noise.
Now to get back to work on the LINUX stuff. That 16m CF should be more
than enough for it. If you have CF cards from older cameras or other
devices do not discard them.
