I have the same problem - the HD on the WinFBB confuser went down Monday!.
(That HD had served me well in three or four boxes!) I'm ordering one today
and hope to have it going again soon. The N3PPC BBS has been down for two
weeks and will not be replaced. At the present time the only BBS in the
three counties here is N4ZKF in DAB.
We are considering putting a co-located DOS FBBBBS on the Orlando Switch -
if that is successful, I will not be running a BBS at home. Once moved to
the remote site, it is not likely there will be a telnet or dial up port.
If this ARESCOM/WL2K e-mail over ham radio system is adopted (and I feel it
will), there will be zero compatibility with the conventional BBS systems -
as they will not handle BF2 binary forwarding. What we need is brand new
BBS software that will work on 32bit MS OS and be able to use BF2.
