Thanks, John, KE4INI for helping to get W4RP Telnet working.. (See below on
how to get to N0IA Telnet)

I can still get to W4RP just fine. I expect part of the problem after we
got it working last night was I had 600+ messages for him! None in the
queue now.

Our Telnet layer is growing for sure -

We need to get more BBS with Telnet links as an additional layer in the
network... this is not to replace the RF forwarding which we must continue
to keep expanding as we re-furbish and add LANs and LAN BBSs.

FYI -
I have a router on my side of a cable modem. The cable folks don't seem to
change the IP address my cable modem uses (WAN) so my ip address doesn't
change often - but has been known to in the past. It will when I reboot the
cable modem for sure Each of my computers on the home LAN side of the
router has an ip address 192. . . . . that never changes no matter.

What the WL2K PMBO machine has is a link to no-ip.com. That solves the
problem of dynamic IP at my WAN for the PMBO so that it is n0ia.no-ip.com
that has an ip address... However, so far as I know FBB requires a fixed ip
address (though I've heard of a scheme to work around that but have not
checked it out.)

The present ip address for the WAN to then get to the FBB machine is
65.33.146.23 so far that has only changed once since I started messing with
FBB Telnet - six months ago.. and I think it changed when I had to reboot
the cable modem.

I'm using port 17H in port.sys and port 23 decimal is open through the
router and directed specifically to the WinFBB machine.

If anyone has stroke with W4DPH ask him to set me up to telnet.. I've got
him set up but not been able to contact him to set me up. My telnet partners
use N0IA as the call for me and BUD as the password.

For N4ZFK: The w4lx bbs is listed on 145.03 on the FADCA data base.
However, I can't see it is on a LAN anywhere. If this is correct, it is a
good example of why we need Telnet as a first approximation to tying in the
outskirts of the (expanding) network. If anyone knows how to contact the
sysop there (it is a club call) let him know we need to find a way to get
that bbs into the network (if it is not already). Telnet needed for sure.

Everyone - don't forget Hamcation - the FADCA meeting is scheduled for
1700-1800 hrs Saturday. We still hope to have a booth for demonstrating the
network Saturday.
