Maybe this will help. To allow a program to talk through Zone Alarm just go
through the following steps:

1. In Zone Alarm look under PROGRAM CONTROL
2. Choose the programs TAB
3. ADD the program to the list - ( I guess it's portmapper.exe )
4. Once it's added, highlight the portmapper.exe line and click the OPTIONS
button
5. In the Program options window, choose the EXPERT RULES TAB
6. Click ADD to add a new rule
   Rank = 1
   Name = Portmapper
   State = Enabled
   Action = Allow
   Track = Alert and Log
   Source = Any
   Destination = Any
   Protocol = Any
   Time = Any
7. Click the OK button to close and save the rule
8. Click OK to close program options
9. Click the close window 'X' to send Zone Alarm back to your task bar.

These steps will allow the choosen program to talk on any port to any
destination ip address. The Protocol setting will allow you to choose which
port it talks on (ie. restrict it to one or two ports). The Destination
setting will allow you to talk to a specific ip address.

More info on each setting is in the Zone Alarm help file under "Creating
expert firewall rules "

Hope that helps....
