Deltona
Sunday Nov 9 Noon EDT
Yesterday six hams from the local area here put up a 220MHZ digipeater =
between the Orlando FPAC (at my QTH in Deltona) and the Cocoa X1-J node =
which carries the routing on to Melbourne FPAC. As of now, this is a =
24/7 route capability.
The digi call is KD4SQT and the Alias is GENVA. (Both work as digi =
calls) Both Orlando FPAC and #COA were full LEDs on the s-meter during =
the heat of the afternoon.
All must remember this is a band-aid and the permanent cure is =
relocation of the Orlando switch to a more suitable site to better serve =
Orange and Seminole Counties.
At 1150EDT today I was able to connect to the TelPac node at Boynton =
beach (KD4LXB-2, 561655) on the W. Palm Beach LAN.
For those who need the details this went from my WinFBB through DeLand =
FPAC, Orlando FPAC, #COA 220 (X-1J Node), COA1 - (crossover to 2M 145.09 =
Melbourne LAN), Melbourne FPAC, Vero FPAC, Ft. Pierce FPAC, Stuart FPAC, =
to W. Palm Beach FPAC.
Status:
The 220 port at Melbourne (normally used to link to Orlando through #COA =
above) is not being decoded by #COA, Orlando FPAC, or the KD4SQT =
digipeater. I will be in Melbourne Friday morning to see what I can =
learn. Once fixed, that will eliminate using the COA1 node and the =
Melbourne LAN for through traffic. It is likely that the W. Palm Beach =
Boys will be visiting the Vero FPAC site that day and we can see what =
remedial work needs to be done on the UHF link between Melbourne and =
Vero.
For those who have not heard - an FPAC with a LAN on 144.91 is now =
operational in Tampa. =20
