Hi Bill and the group, my TelPac station is good into W4PLB-8 most of the
time. It gets week during the day but is very solid during the night and
morning. I have the power up to max 50 watts and a 3 el beam up about 24
feet. This just barely gets the job done.
Anybody that wants to try and use my station as a digi to get to the w4plb
network is welcome to try but here are some notes to think about. My beam
is pointing north so the fair ground would be off the side, I don't think
it will be reachable from the fair grounds unless I move the beam to the
west. If I do that I'm sure it would not hit w4plb-8 anymore.
I'm currently experimenting with using TelPac with the AGWPE but have some
issues with AGWPE and have not been able to get it to beacon or digi yet.
I can switch back to direct KPC3+ control, no problem but we will need to
coordinate this. When I run the KPC3+ I have it set to digi using the call
kf4sir-3. The kf4sir-3 digi has been tested a lot using my HT to connect to
the w4plb network and works very well.
Another option might be for me to move the beam to the west and try to
provide TelPac only service.
If anybody is going to the fairgrounds before Sat and is interested in
checking to see if my TelPac station can be hit please let me know and I
will move the beam west.
Thanks, Dale
