I believe Gary KC5QCN has a computer-to-large screen projector lined up for
our use at the FADCA Forum.

It appears several of our group will be  arriving Friday.  N3PPC and I will
try to be at the hamfest site not later than 0730 Saturday.  (Gary: Can you
recommend a specific 2M repeater on the list for FADCA folks to monitor for
contacts? )

Schedule:

We will have a FADCA table/booth somewhere.  I'll have two cardboard story
boards (if I can get the 2nd one finished!) and we'll have two laptops with
power point displays running.  The main themes will be (1) Digital Messaging
in Support of EMCOMMS, and (2) Status and using the Florida Layered Packet
Network.

Depending on the actual amount of table top room and feed line access for
antennas, we should be able to do packet and/or HF demonstrations at the
table/booth - look for the "Yellow Thingy" which will be making its West
Central Florida debut.  Before the FORUM (at 1030) we should know how well
we can work the LAN and HF.

Charlie N3PPC and I will set up our stuff at the table/booth and be
available much of the time to man it.  However, we'd sure like some help
off/on so we can shop for goodies as well as get a break once in a while.

The FADCA FORUM starts at 1030 in Meeting Room Long Key North Room #4

I'll have a short Power Point program, not to exceed 20 minutes and will
follow with a Q&A.  If we have been able to get the feed line/antennas to
work the LAN and/or HF we'll know by then and have a demo - which I doubt
will take more than another 30 minutes unless folks want to see the same
thing over and over again!

The rest of the Forum (until noon) can be spent in general Q&A/discussion -
on any of our related topics.  If we have an abundance of folks who have
been attracted to the topic but don't know much about digital we'll have to
keep the technical level subdued a tad.  Otherwise, we can discuss more
detailed topics if we like.

On thing- if we have the Paclink program in our laptops for the demo - there
is not much to see - it's just Outlook Express. What is impressive is what
we can DO with it, not what it LOOKS like as everyone has seen Outlook
Express (or a similar E-mail client).  If we don't have Paclink mastered for
the demos, we'll use Airmail which is an e-mail client "look alike", but not
enough to confuse someone with Outlook Express. Any HF demos this weekend
will use AirMail.

After the FORUM we need to continue manning the FADCA booth as we will
likely have generated interest in some folks coming back for more detailed
discussions.

FADCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Sometime after the FORUM we will hold a BOD meeting - any FADCA member is
encouraged to attend.  We may do that while the hamfest is still in progress
or right afterward. We don't want to lose any Director because he has to
leave, so please check in at the FADCA TABLE once in a while for a notice of
time and place.

SATURDAY EVENING DINNER/SUPPER
Charlie and I have to return home Saturday but can stay for dinner.  That
would be a good time to get together for those who can.  It might even be a
good time for the BOD meeting if everyone is still in town.  My preference
would be for the dinner to be soon after the close of the hamfest.
