Charlie, N3PPC, and I did the following at the DeLand FPAC site today.
1. Determined the old hardline for the 220 port is bad.
2. Put in new 9913
3. Added 220 5-el beam to the mast under the vertical - VSWR 1.12:1
4. While there with the beam pointed to #COA we could work DAB just =
fine off the side, so we left the system on the beam to see if it =
improves things to Cocoa during darkness. We can change back to the =
Vertical if necessary.
5. Installed the DTMF controller which allows cycling power on computer =
and another function for cycling TNC power. A third function to power =
down everything was not set up as the power relay for that chattered! =
We'll replace the relay.
With the controller available we removed the timer. =20
We restarted the system at 1340 or so and departed. The system ran =
until 2012 and died. A remote recycle brought it up just fine. We'll =
see how much of a problem that is.. The system halted again at 2133. I =
'm expecting to have to replace the computer. That computer had not =
failed once a month while on the FPAC testing here since January!
The 220 port worked fine all afternoon, but sometime about 1800-1900 or =
so it could no longer work DAB, but I did connect to #COA once after =
that.. and just did again though I can't get to DAB. .Maybe off the =
side of the beam doesn't work at night!
The LINUX guy I mentioned Friday sent me an e-mail about 2015 - he had =
FBB LINUX up and running and wanted me to run it through some paces. He =
said he'd be taking a look at LINUX FPAC tomorrow.
More later.
