Hi all,
I have added the "help" text that Bud sent with a clickable area on the map
which brings the help up in the right pane. The User can keep the
information for his intended switch visible in the left pane while he
makes his connection using the instructions in the right one.
If you have suggestions as to changes in the help text let us know.
I think the use of different colored dots for frequencies rather than the
whole circle would work best. The present green circles are transparent and
overlap nicely and Bob did a great job getting the whole state to show. The
coverage is impressive and I think for our use the map is fine as is.
I have been adding the clickable dots here and can change colors as LANs
are activated on the map and can handle the various colors if that is
decided. We can have a legend indicating these and I can color code them in
the LAN data pane as well. Not sure we need this feature but open for comment.
I will increase the size of the clicklable area as large as possible in
each instance around the dots keeping these from overlapping as I add sites.
I have added default navigation links to reset the system if someone comes
in from a search engine and hits a page designed to be in a frame, I really
get provoked when I hit a page with no way out !
I have also re-designed the lower left frame so users can navigate the site
from there by LAN name. In the future we can have a detailed map of each
LAN pop into the RH frame when they click here OR when they click on the
individual LAN.
In your testing please indicate if you encounter any irregularities in
navigation such as a page that comes up in the wrong frame etc. or you get
to a dead end.
This project was done in a hurry and may still have some bugs.
I NEED DATA to fill in the LANs !
Bud has sent me the info on Orlando, Daytona Beach & DeLand
Anyone sending it should include:
Location (City)
Frequency
Switch Mycall
List of BBS calls and quick connects
List of EOCs and quick connects
Sponsor(s)
Contacts
In the format that Bud has used for his data so they can all look alike.
I need an opinion as to when to active it on the web page, we can put it up
now with the three active sites or wait till we have more input.
As each LAN's data is provided a new dot will appear.
