Barry,
Down East Microwave ( www.downeastmicrowave.com ) has a 15 watt 2.4 Ghz amp
available. It would have to be combined with a TR switch and a LNA to make
it bi directional. There may also be local EIRP restrictions that must be
complied with.
Maybe there is a microwave wizard out there that knows how to do this
easily?

Hello Chuck,
We have in fact been looking into doing something like the
article describes here in Sydney. In Brisbane they have already made a
start. One of our problems is both our accessable sites are on a
plateau well back from the where the land falls away.
Also I think we would need amplifiers to get the power up to say 20
watts. Do you know of any such amplifiers being available there ?
If necessary we could build them, hmmm I wonder if there are any old
analogue mobile phone transmitters available anywhere ?
How are anyway, long time no speak ?
