agencies.

                 Description

The Public Safety Wireless Network (PSWN)
Program and the National
                 Telecommunications Information
Administration (NTIA) will co-sponsor
a summit at the Ronald Reagan International
Trade Center in
Washington, DC, on June 11-12, 2002. (See
www.pswn.gov or call 1-800-
565-PSWN for additional information on the
summit.) This summit is
                 intended to stimulate networking and
firsthand information exchanges,
                 among attendees, equipment manufacturers,
and commercial wireless
                 service providers about current and
emerging solutions to wireless
                 communications interoperability among
public safety land mobile radio
                 (LMR) communications systems. The summit
participants will include
local, state, and federal chief information
officers, congressional
                 staffers, elected and appointed officials,
and public safety
                 executives. The PSWN Program envisions
informative presentations by
                 users of existing wireless solutions,
manufacturers, and commercial
service providers to include an opportunity
for vendors to set up
tabletop exhibits for participants to ask
additional questions about
                 their solutions. Vendor presentations (up
to 7 slots) are planned for
                 June 12, 2002 from 8:00-Noon. Dependent on
vendor responses, each
vendor will be given 30 minutes to make
presentations including, but
not limited to, vendor products, status of
research and development
                 activities, and compliance with published
standards. The information
should focus on technical solutions, but
should be presented in an
easy to understand format for participants
from both more technical
and less technical backgrounds. Up to 15
tabletop exhibits are
                 planned for June 12, 2002 from 1:30 -3:30
p.m. Vendors will be
                 accepted on a first-come, first-served
basis. The Summit co-sponsors
will not provide transportation, per diem,
or other resources or
support for vendors participating in the
discussion. Vendors desiring
to send a representative to participate in
the presentations and/or
the tabletop exhibits should make their
request via e-mail
(preferred), by fax, or in writing to: Mrs.
Carole Kirsch, PSWN
                 Program, P.O. Box 3926, Fairfax, VA 22038,
(E-mail
                 [email protected], Phone:

participant by name, and provide
                 the following point-of-contact information:
business mailing address,
telephone and fax numbers, and email
address. Requests should be
received no later than May 17, 2002.
Participation in the summit and
exhibit will be confirmed by May 24, 2002.
Vendors confirmed to
participate in the summit will be asked by
the PSWN Program to review
                 and approve all presentation materials
(e.g., briefing slides).
