What is the status of work being done on Linux FPAC and the
integration of the APRS links and FPAC along with HF digital
and the internet? We recently had quite a bit of discussion
on these topics and there is a lot of work that has been
done/started. Still, more needs to be done.

Has anyone made any headway on these?

I know Bud has reported on Melbourne and he continues in his
efforts to make presentations to the various groups in
Central Florida.

Doug is working on establishing a switch in Tallahassee to
enable us to reach the SEOC and foster more packet activity
in that area.

I am discussing with Joe Burnett expanding the network into
Baker County (where we had been before) and I have submitted
information for a Line of Sight path test to evaluate
possible sites to connect Jacksonville with Tallahassee.

I am working on a new antenna and connection to Gainesville
from my repeater site to bring Gainesville back into the
network and that should also bring in Ft. White and the
Southern end of Columbia County with the help of Larry
Weaver, N4ZFH.

Joe Bushel, W2DWR, ARES DEC for Suwanne, Columbia, and
Hamilton Counties(hope I did not leave any out, Joe), and
Ed Locklear, KF4CHG, are working with us to try to make the
network connection in their area and help us connect to
Tallahassee in the process.

So progress is beginning in those areas.

I would like to make the new Baker County LAN a LINUX FPAC
site if we can, Doug and Chuck, any progress?

For a short period, I am going to have to take down some of
my antennas to move them so I can pass my upcoming
electrical and airconditioning installation inspections (my
mast interfers with opening the new service box we have
installed.) I hope to switch everything to another mast by
this next weekend so should not have a complete loss of
connectivity from JAX to St Augustine and Daytona, but
there may be weaker signals ( we are barely making it now
and the new amp and preamp that are on back order have not
arrived.)

However, when all of the construction is complete, I hope to
switch my ROSE switcnes over to FPAC (Bud and Paul, I will
coordinate with you as I know there will be call sign
changes at my site.) Also, I will have a new HF antenna to
get me back on the air on HF.

Bud can you send me information on purchasing Pactor II and
III capable controllers?
