Agree. I can convert from one to another but when I start
having to convert from all sorts it gets messy.

Actually most of the mapping stuff really likes the
DD.dddd format, though most of them will take the
DDMM.mmmm format and of course the DD:MM:SS.ss format
it accepted by most of them also. I have to work with
several of them and the prefered method is the DD.dddd
format. The NMEA sentences are in DDMM.mmmm format so
they have to accept that one in most cases. I would prefer
either DDMM.mmmm or DD.dddd, but it needs to be one so
I am not having to build formulas for all of them.
