Minutes for the Meeting on April 24th 2020

Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)



The Meeting was called to order by President Vic Pennetta, K2NBC at 8:03 PM
on the K2ETS repeater. This was followed by the check-ins of participating
members.

*Meeting Minutes*

The minutes from the March meeting were successfully e-mailed. A motion was
made by W2OIL and WD2NJC to waive the reading of the minutes. The motion
passed unanimously.

*Treasurer’s Report*

Treasurer’s report as given by Dan KC2YRC.

Due to the meeting being held on the repeater, the Treasurer’s Report was
“We are solvent.”

A motion was made by W2OIL and seconded by KD2ARB to accept the Treasurer's
Report. This was approved by the membership.

*Correspondence*

The only correspondence has been spam generated by the K2ETS Website
feedback forum.

*Technical Report*

Everything is working fine. The “Galloping Ghost” (term coined by WB2HKK)
is gone and we are click-free.

Pete KD2ARB reminded us about the “programming” that available on the
repeater(s) – the ARRL News, the NorthStar Digital Net and the East Coast
reflector.

*Old Business*

*New Business*

The Nominations Committee read the proposed Slate of Officers for the
2020/2021 year. There were no further nominations from the floor, so the
Secretary cast one ballot and elected the proposed Slate.

President – K2NBC

Vice-President – K2WLR

Treasurer – KC2YRC

Secretary - KD2PMP

*Health and Welfare*

Bob W2REC, a member of our VE Team passed away from COVID-19. His wife Ruth
was recovering at home after being released from the hospital. A card of
Condolence and a memorial pillow with a depiction of W2REC’s QSL card will
be sent to her.

*Misc.*

Bill W2WK made a mention thatwe should appreciate the work of all the
frontline healthcare workers fighting the virus at this time. His son Tim
K0ETH, was working with the University of Maryland on a project to sanitize
N95 masks.

Pete KD2ARB inquired as to the health of Don K2DSV. W2OIL reported that
right now, Don is doing as well as can be expected.

*Adjournment*

The meeting was adjourned by K2WLR at 8:42 PM as K2NBC developed a
microphone problem.
