[ETS/PARC List] Using "Zoom"

Maybe the club could sign up for the business account - it wouldn’t make much of a dent in the treasury and we could discontinue it eventually if it ends up not being used over time.

Once we had a club Zoom, there are some interesting things we might do with it:
- In the short run, of course, use it in lieu of physical meetings, until we can get back together
- Broadcast meetings to members who can’t attend - either real-time or later
- Record or broadcast some of our tech sessions at the repeater, or other interesting things we do (putting up a tower, etc.)
- Maybe some “E-Elmering” to help out new (or not so new) members with equipment problems, license prep, etc.
- Unscheduled or emergency meetings, either whole membership or officers, as warranted

etc.

Zoom is great for stuff like the above where you’d like to reach some or all of the membership, but you don’t want things to be completely public (i.e., you wouldn’t post it on YouTube necessarily). It’s also good because (unlike some other conferencing systems) there’s easy access for audio-only devices (landline phones, or while driving) as well as audio/video. It also has great screen-sharing, for that next presentation at a meeting. And it works on cellular as well as Internet, so you can access it pretty much from anywhere you can get a good cell signal.

If there’s an account to use, a message could go out before tomorrow’s meeting.

Just some thoughts… one person’s view so usual disclaimers apply… best to all.
