The next ' meeting ' is on Friday, July 31, 2020, at 8PM. It would be great if you find the time to ' attend '. The June meeting had a mere 3 members sign in. The repeater seems to have near Zero activity these days. We all miss our monthly get together. This is one way to at least stay in touch. You have to get your own snacks though, but you can attend in pajamas if you like! Remember that we have an upcoming meeting on Friday, July 31 at 8pm. I expect it will be conducted on our 2 meter repeater.? We may not be able to meet in person for an extended period of time.? I think it is important for us to try to maintain our connections until things can return to normal. Consider checking in to our meeting if you are able. If people email me their call signs, first name and location after the meeting I can check you in as, "listening", if you are unable to transmit. *Minutes for the Meeting on June 26th, 2020 (via repeater)* *Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)* The Meeting was called to order by Vice President Bill, K2WLR filling in for the president on short notice at 8:02 PM on the K2ETS repeater. This was followed by the check-ins of participating members. *Minutes* Prior meeting minutes were sent to club email list. *Minutes Accepted* - W2OIL motioned, WB2HKK seconded. *Treasures Report* Summary presented by W2OIL. Detailed report will be sent via email to officers. Club is solvent. Verizon and normal monthly bills. *Treasurers Report Accepted*- ??? Motioned, KB2LLM seconded, no opposed. * Correspondence* None *Committee Reports* *Technical Committee *Len WB2HKK ? Repeater?s output amplifier (Mirage) went bad. Was on the air with just 390 milliwatts (could still be heard).Switched to backup repeater tray at 16 watts, which worked fine. Worked on amplifier. Replacement was considered, but Drew suggested replacing the fuse holder rather than the amplifier for $700. The amplifier has been repaired and returned to service and working well. Trees are overgrowing power and fiber-lines. Len emailed Drew photos and details and he forward to the correct authorities. Hopefully will be trimmed before we have another fiber line down. KB2LLM - 220 is good and backup in Elizabeth is good. All is well. *Comments* KC2PI ? Late check-in, report of repeater possibly logged off EchoLink. *Picnic Committee* Still scheduled for August. Check not cashed yet. Conditions unknown.May need to make decision at July meeting. *New Business* None *Old Business* None *Good and Welfare* None *Comments* KD2PMP reported he had been taking minutes. *Adjournment* 8:15 pm WB2HKK motioned W2OIL seconded. *Check-ins* *Call* *Name* *Location* *Type* K2WLR Bill Metuchen, NJ Base KD2PMP Chris Rahway, NJ Base WB2HKK Len Old Bridge, NJ Base KB2LLM Rich Clark, NJ Base W2CZM Kevin Martinsville, NJ Allstar W2OIL Dave North Plainfield, NJ Base Z2RJR? ? I know it has been a while since you have seen correspondence from me regarding current issues or updates pertaining to our club, and I do apologize. As many of you know my company is involved with many of the school districts around the state along with a number of city and county governments. We have been working two shifts checking, servicing and where necessary replacing ventilation equipment for these clients. Everyone is requesting higher efficiency air filters, increased outdoor air ventilation rates and in some instances the addition of UV lighting and ionization systems. Union County, which is right in our back yard, is running all their buildings' HVAC systems 24 hours aday so that they can stagger the working hours for the county employees and limit the number of occupants in their buildings. Our members that have school age children know that many of the school districts still do not have a clearly defined scope of how or if they will be open up for business in September. That said I am reminding everyone that we will be holding our monthly club meeting tonight on the 940 repeater at 8:00 pm. I want to personally thank Bill, K2WLR our club VP for stepping up and volunteering to run last month's on-the-air meeting with literally a few minutes notice. I received an email from Chris, KD2PMP our club secretary suggesting that he would send out a few email notices a few days before our upcoming meeting as a reminder to everyone. Great idea. Chris also had some additional suggestions for the betterment of the club. We have some important issues to discuss at tonight's meeting: 1. We still have not been given the ok from the Scotch Plains Recreation Department to hold our yearly picnic in the park at the end of August. 2. If we do get clearance to hold our picnic, how many members along with their family and friends would actually feel comfortable to attend. 3. Should we consider holding our monthly meeting via Zoom instead of on the repeater? The initial problems with Zoom seems to have been corrected but we still are a "Ham Radio Club". 4. Consider having one of our members or a guest do a on-air presentation for the club. Chris gets credit for this one. Looking forward to and I hopping that everyone who can will check in tonight. 73, Victor, K2NBC President, ETS of NJ From vpennetta at pennetta.com Fri Jul 31 17:27:31 2020 From: vpennetta at pennetta.com (Victor Pennetta) Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2020 21:27:31 +0000 Subject: [ETS/PARC List] FW: Notice of Tonight's Monthly Meeting In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: If anyone is receiving this email please let me know.
