Subject: Very special SPARC meeting, and a fundraiser

Dear SPARC members,

Our monthly business meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 23, at 7 PM in the CERT building.  This is a very special occasion.  Our Founding President, Marv Bronstein, will "retire" from the Presidency (and ONLY the Presidency) on that day.  It is certainly true that SPARC would not be what it is today without Marv's vision, energy, and leadership.  It may not be an exaggeration to say that SPARC wouldn't exist at all without him.

If you have the time on Wednesday, please come to express thanks and congratulations to someone who has been, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE, a big part of our lives.

On another note, as many of you know, Hadley Communication Technologies was formed in 2018 to raise money in support of SPARC (and other related activities).  We have an opportunity to support HCT:

Hadley Communication Technologies of South Plainfield (“HCT”) will hold a fundraiser at McDonald's, 909 Oak Tree Road, South Plainfield, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  The money we raise will be used by HCT to continue supporting the public safety and public service efforts of the South Plainfield Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) as well as local initiatives encouraging interest and literacy in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  It's easy:  just show up between 4 and 6, enjoy a meal or snack, and you'll be supporting HCT. If you can, please stop at McDonald's between 4 and 6 for a meal, a snack, or even a cup of coffee.  Every little bit helps, and we'd like to say thanks to McDonald's for doing this.
