Minutes for the Meeting on February 23rd, 2018
Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)

The Meeting was called to order by  President Vic Pennetta, K2NBC at 8:07
PM.  This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then
by self-introductions of all those in attendance.

Meeting Minutes
Minutes for the January meeting were successfully emailed. A motion was
made by W2OIL and seconded by KC2YRC to accept them.

Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer’s report as given by Dan KC2YRC.
Opening Balance - $XXXX.07
Income -   50/50s - $XX, Coffee Kitty - $XX,  Members Dues & Donations -
$XXX.00
Deposit - $XXX.00
Regular Disbursements -  $XX.00 Bank Service Fee , $XX.08 Verizon Payment
Closing Balance - $XXXX.99–  so we are $XXX.04 “ahead” compared  to last
year.
A motion was made by W2OIL and seconded by W2OU to accept the Treasurer's
Report. This was approved by the membership.

Correspondence
None

Technical Report
Repeaters are working OK. The new 220 MHz will be installed when the
weather improves. Len WB2HKK proposed spending $300 to build a back up 2
Meter Repeater. Chris KC2PI seconded the motion and the expenditure was
approved by the membership.

Nominations Committee – The existing slate of officers agreed to serve
another term.  Thanks to Chris KC2PI for his work on this.

Picnic Committee – A member who resides in Scotch Plains needs to reserve
the park.

Old Business
There was a discussion about reinforcing the club's affiliation with
Somerset County OEM in order to keep secure our space on the tower and our
access to the repeater site.  It was suggested to offer the K2ETS repeater
as a backup repeater for Somerset County ARES. It was also determined that
an inventory of the equipment is needed for insurance purposes.

New Business – New Providence Auction – February 24th
BARA Auction – March 4th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Washington Township High
School
Cherryville Hamfest – Saturday, March 10th

Health and Welfare
Tony N2WRK is living with his sister and is undergoing cancer treatments
Walter W2WIQ – his granddaughters will be invited to ETS events.
