Subject: [NJDXA-L] IC-4KL for sale

I have an IC-4KL that I would like to sell.   This is a two part amp with a control head and the main body of the amp separate.   It works like a transceiver with an ICOM rig and puts out a full 1KW pep on SSB, CW and RTTY with 220AC input.   It also has auto tuning.  I?ve had the rig for about 15 years and it has always worked fine for me.   My antenna is gone and I?m leaving the hobby so this amp needs a new home.

You need to pick it up and it is heavy.   Its about 70 lbs and I can help load it in your car.

Good Evening Everyone

                I was out to day and helped my cousin by a car for her daughter. Its a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The

only problem it has is the radio does not work. C.D. player ok only static on am and fm. some station can be

heard on 105.5 105.1 a little static. My solution to test is see if antenna pulled out some where. Was going to

pull radio out and hook antenna straight to back of unit. Do not know maybe tuner burnt out. So if anyone

has a suggestion please let me know.

It's been a while since the last update but I have some news to share.  We're one step closer to being back on the air.  As some may know, Dmitri Zhikharev RA9USU along with Adrian Ciuperca KO8SCA have been working with me behind the scenes to get the station operational again.  Through the generous donations of Dima and his associates (notably Ed Kritsky NT2X), we were able to get a rack mounted K3, Acom 2000 linear amplifier, and associated network-enabled control hardware.  We were also granted another K3 to act as a remote head from SK Tony N2UN via his widow, and delivered to us by Andrew Bodony K2LE.  Finally, Adrian has been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes networking and legwork with his counterparts to help get things done from within the United Nations.

Yesterday represents an additional milestone for the club as Adrian (who did most of the work) and I, finally erected a brand new SteppIR BigIR vertical antenna on the Secretariat's roof.  All that remains is to connect and lay the ground radials, fine-tune the rack mounted devices, and setup and configure the remote K3.  Once done and after almost a decade off-air, we can finally call CQ 20 de 4U1UN.

Just a reminder that this Sunday starting at 10:00 am we will be having our club's annual picnic at Brookside Park, 1399 Hetfield Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.  Looks like the weather is going to be p-e-r-f-e-c-t and with low humidity.  So if you were on the fence deciding to go or not, hopefully now with the good weather report this will help you make the decision to come out and enjoy the day with your fellow club members, family and friends and perhaps make a rare DX contact. Please make sure you let Dan know if decided last minute to go so that we have an accurate count.  Also if you are planning to make or purchase something for the picnic (it is always appreciated), please let Dave or Dan know by tomorrow.


Volunteers are always welcome to meet at the park an hour or two before to help out with setting up for the picnic along with getting our HF station and antennas on the air.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there on Sunday!

I have an OLD Western Electric 35Y3D Touch-Tone Pad I used to use for Ham

I built a small interface board with a cap and pot on it.



I have lost the diagram on how to wire it. I know it was a simple power
connection and audio out. 



I've been searching the Internet for the info. I DO have the schematic of
the pad.



Does anyone have more information?

Thanks from me, too - and specific compliments to Chefs Dan and Dave.  The food was outstanding, and there was plenty of it! Thanks to the Committee for putting up the operating position, too, and for all the work you did for the picnic.  It was a great day.

Subject: NJQP - New Jersey QSO Party


Attention NJ Amateur Radio Operators!
The New Jersey QSO Party (NJQP) will take place in just over two weeks on September 15 and 16, 2018.
The Burlington County Radio Club (BCRC) is sponsoring the NJQP for the 7th year.  They are asking for your help in getting the word out to all NJ hams and asking for their active participation.
Please make this information available to all your members.  Announce details at your meetings and ask for them to operate!  If you have a newsletter please publish the info there.  Announcements on any nets would be helpful as well.  Attached is a brief word document announcing the NJQP.
Hopefully all 21 counties will be active, but BCRC needs your help to encourage participation.
Also keep in mind there is a club competition as well, with the high scoring club being awarded a gavel.
