*** SEQP WRAP-UP ***
670,000 spots were detected by the Reverse Beacon Network (RBN), and over 542,000 spots were reported to PSKReporter.

On Saturday evening prior to the event, NJIT ARC member Joshua Katz, KD2JAO, gave a presentation describing how ham radio communication would be used for scientific research on the impact the eclipse would have on the ionosphere to a standing room only crowd at the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey facility at Jenny Jump State Park. On Monday during the eclipse, 300 guests were on site as members of NJIT ARC operated participated in SEQP at the Jenny Jump site. More at: https://news.njit.edu/path-totality/

*** JerseyStem Opportunity ***
JerseySTEM is seeking help create an Amateur Radio program for kids in the Morris County area. "JerseySTEM is a network co-op of parents, professionals, students and educators whose goal is to promote excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math ("STEM") education." Website: http://www.jerseystem.org/

I have had an initial conversation with a member of the organization. At this point they don't have any requirements other than the desire to add an Amateur Radio program to their portfolio. They are looking for someone to "bootstrap" the program ... so lots of room to be creative. They can supply organizational support, facilities and modest funding. Contact me (ka2pbt at arrl.org) directly if you would like to become involved.

*** NBEMS testing ***
An informal Narrow Band Emergency Messaging Software (NBEMS) experimenters group has been formed and is meeting Tuesday evenings at 8PM on W2SJT/R 146.820 MHz (-) 110.9 Hz (2Z) CTCSS. (Echolink node 367357). For more information contact ASEC Kevin Murray k2fn at arrl.net
