It is with sadness we report Bob Witham, WD2U, passed away this past
Tuesday evening, August 8, 2017 at his home in Spring Lake, NJ. Bob was
81 years old.

Bob was a long-time active member of the Ocean Monmouth Amateur Radio
Club, OMARC, and an “Elmer” to many people. He held the position of
club Treasurer for many years and participated in every activity. More

*** SEQP Events ***
The Solar Eclipse is a little more than a week away and there are a few
related events in NNJ:

Boy Scout Troop 159 is planning a viewing event at Wallish Farms in West
Milford. All Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts are invited to attend. Scott
Wylie, WY1LIE, will be setting up an HF station and participating in the

Members of the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will participate in the SEQP
from the club's operating station at the Fair Lawn Community Center,
10-10 20th Street , just off Berdan Avenue, in Fair Lawn from 2PM until

NJIT ARC (K2MFF) students will be operating the SEQP from the United
Astronomy Clubs of NJ Observatory at Jenny Jump State Park. Directions
at uacnj.org. Also, NJIT students Josh Katz KD2JAO and Shaheda Shaik
will be giving a public lecture about radio observations of the eclipse
at UACNJ on Saturday, August 19 at 8 PM.

*** The Care and Feeding of Meters ***
... is the topic of the talk to be given by NNJ Technical Coordinator
Alan Wolke, W2AEW, at the The New Jersey Antique Radio Club *TONIGHT*
Friday, August 11 at 7:30PM. NJARC meetings are held on the campus of
Princeton University in Princeton NJ. More details at:
