Minutes for the Meeting on March 31st, 2017Electronic Technology Society of New Jersey (ETS of NJ)
The Meeting was called to order by  President Vic Pennetta, K2NBC at 7:58 PM.  This was followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and then by self-introductions of all those in attendance.  Also in attendance was Lee Smith KD2DRS, the Affiliated Club Coordinator for the NNJ Section of the ARRL.
Meeting SuspendedAt this point, the regular meeting was suspended for a presentation by Glenn Stott, retired test pilot. He gave a talk about the Tiger moth, a restored RAF trainer biplane, N39DH, and how it was used to fly around the Empire State Building for the 50th Anniversary of the release of “King Kong”. The meeting resumed  at 8:52 PM
Meeting MinutesMinutes for the January meeting were successfully emailed. A motion was made by W2OILand seconded by WB2HKK to accept them.
Treasurer’s ReportTreasurer’s report as given by Dan KC2YRC.March 2017 Opening Balance - $XXXX.95Income -   50/50s - $XX.50,   Members Dues & Donations - $XXX.00Deposit - $XXX.50Regular Disbursements -  $XX.00 Bank Service Fee , $XX.47 Verizon PaymentClosing Balance - $XXXX.98–  so we are $XXXX.33 “ahead” compared  to last year.A motion was made by W2WIQ and seconded by W2OILto accept the Treasurer's Report. This was approved by the membership.

Technical ReportWB2HKK reported that the clicking noise on the repeater was caused by an accumulation of files in the system – autologging files as well as recorded .wav files from the Danny DeFelice tracking efforts.  Clearing those out eliminated the clicking.
Repeated “kerchunking” of the repeater is being caused by a site related problem. The Raspberry Pis now have premium SD cards associated with them. The 220 repeater is now putting out 40 Watts. The Tech Committee has endorsed purchasing one of the new Bridgecom 220 repeaters as well as one of their 2 Meter repeaters. They are small, reliable and relatively inexpensive and would be an upgrade over the equipment we are currently using.
Old BusinessThe ARRL News will continue to be aired on Monday nights and the Tech Net on Friday nights.
New BusinessIt was suggested that the Club Silent Key list be updated; but it is already being maintained by Drew W2OU.Laith KD2MRB has volunteered to undertake keeping the K2ETS Website updated.Laith KD2MRB was unanimously voted into the Club.Health and WelfareWayne WA2USM was in the hospital for an extended stay since January; but is now home.  It was reported that Gene K2KJI's wife was under the weather, recovering from an infection.
AdjournmentA motion was made to adjourn the meeting by N2JUN and was seconded by W2OIL. The meeting was adjourned at 9:49 PM
