In this month of April; Amateur Radio Day, always on April 18, the day the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) was founded in 1925. The continuing theme for the annual World Amateur Day is “Celebrating Amateur Radio’s Contribution to Society”. On April 18, there will be many IARU Member Societies on the air with specific call signs representing their society. Some societies actually apply for a special event call sign, usually ending with the suffix "IARU". Interesting QSL cards will surely glaze the ham shack wall! For more information,
